About Simone Marie

Simone Marie Coenen, originally from Belgium, immigrated to Canada in December 1992 where she incorporated COSIDO Inc. o/a Simone Marie Belgian Chocolate. Her love of authenticity, Belgian traditions, good food and especially chocolate was introduced in her first Toronto retail store in May 1993.

From there she developed her business to include both corporate and wholesale clients. In 1996, Simone Marie Belgian Chocolate was further expanded with a larger retail store which is now found at 126 Cumberland Street in the prestigious Bloor/Yorkville Area of Toronto. Simone Marie Belgian Chocolate is a member of the Yonge-Bloor-Bay Business Association.

Since arriving in Toronto, Simone Marie has been featured and acknowledged by a number of publications (including Toronto Life, Frommers, Toronto Star, Treasures of Ontario, Toronto's Many Faces, etc, etc.) for her outstanding products and services as well as appearing on a number of radio and television broadcasts.

Prior to her arrival in Canada, Simone Marie was a graduate of the University of Brussels and held both professional and managerial positions with IBM Belgium.
